Donna Wonsewitz, born on August 3, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, passed away on March 7, 2026. She was a beloved figure known for her vibrant personality and dynamic presence in both her personal and professional life.
She was a proud graduate of St. Clair High School, class of 1957. Donna dedicated 45 years to a successful career in real estate, during which she consistently excelled and established herself as a respected professional in the field. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her outgoing and bubbly nature. Donna was known for her ability to bring joy to those around her, relishing every opportunity to have a good time. Her meticulous attention to detail extended beyond her career into all facets of her life, reflecting her tidy personality. Additionally, she was recognized as an expert gambler, with many referring to her as a professional in this pastime.
Throughout her life, Donna shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Charles, who passed away in 2019. Together, they enjoyed traveling and exploring the world, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
Donna is survived by her children, Pam (the late, Tom) Heuer, Cathy (Ron) Geimer, and Lori (James) Dillick; as well as her 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also mourning her loss is her sister, Deanna (the late, Fred) Hinson, along with a host of other family members and friends who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wonsewitz; her son, James Wonsewitz; her mother, Eleanor Catherine Borgmeyer; her father, Joseph Doberstein; and her brother, John (the late, Wanza) Borgmeyer.
Donna won a special place in the hearts of many, and her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
