Douglas Dale Hawks, age 72, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on February 12, 1951 to Robert and Velora Hawks (nee Hatch).
Douglas had a great passion for Astronomy; he loved reading about astronomy research and using his several telescopes to view the night sky. He was an avid golfer and reader of non-fiction history books. Doug adored his grandchildren and his very special god-daughter and niece, Brenda. He spent many hours of his adult life studying the bible and his Christian Faith was a very important part of his life. Doug was kind to everyone he met. He dedicated over 40 years to the United States Postal Service.
Douglas is survived by his son, Joseph (BreeAnn) Hawks; three grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Hawks, Hazel Grace Hawks, and ShyAnn Chevelle Hawks; brother, Ken (Nancy) Hawks; sister, Cindy Myer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Velora Gale Hawks; father, Robert Dale Hawks; sister, Corliss Parsons; and brother, Randy Hawks.
