Duane John Stumpp, age 66, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 4, 1960 to Ronald and Elaine Stumpp (nee Stanick).
Duane enjoyed a rewarding and successful career spanning over 35 years with Mutual of America. Hired in 1985 as Assistant Services Correspondent in the New York Home Office. Duane made lifelong friends who appreciated his warmth, camaraderie, and special knack for finding answers to complex questions. In 1990, he was among the first Service Managers to deploy to the field, continuing his achievements in the St. Louis Field Office before retiring in 2020 as Vice President Field Administration. Above all, Duane was deeply dedicated to serving retirement and insurance plan participants with absolute care, compassion, and excellence. He will be dearly missed by the many colleagues and friends who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Duane loved his wife, Lauren, very much. They recently celebrated 35 years of marriage this past March. Her cooking was comfort that filled their home with warmth. He spent countless hours building a world of trains and cities with his own hands. The simple sounds of a classic rumbling engine excited him. He also was avid reader and thought that all books were a special source of knowledge. Nothing made him prouder than the quiet moments he spent with his son, John.
He loved and lived his life to the fullest. He left the world a little quieter now that he is gone, but his memories will always be etched in our hearts and his spirit will live on through us.
He is survived by his son, John Richard Stumpp. He is also lovingly remembered by his father, Ronald T. Stumpp, sister, JoAnn Sienkiewicz, and by his aunt, Dian Malm; and his niece, Allyson Sienkiewicz; along with several cousins and extended family. Their lives carry forward the love, connection, and memories they shared, and his presence will remain close to them in the days ahead.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lauren Stumpp; and mother, Elanie Stumpp.
