Earl August Bair

August 9, 1933 — May 2, 2025

Manchester, Missouri

Earl August Bair, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Manchester, Missouri, on May 2, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on August 9, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, Earl touched countless lives with his quiet strength, determination, and the gentle kindness that radiated from his very being.

Earl’s journey in life was marked by dedication and commitment—both to his family and his career. For 47 years, he excelled as a skilled automotive technician, a profession that brought him immense pride. His work ethic was unparalleled; Earl only missed two days of work throughout his remarkable career, a testament to his steadfast character and passion for his craft.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Earl served his country with honor in the United States Army and spent time serving in Korea, exemplifying the values of duty and loyalty that defined his life. He carried these values into every aspect of his daily routine, whether it was in his work, his family life, or his leisure pursuits.

Earl had a deep love for the great outdoors. His fondness for bass and crappie fishing and hunting reflected his appreciation for nature’s beauty and tranquility. These hobbies provided him with joy and relaxation, moments spent in calm settings, perhaps contemplating life while waiting for the fish to bite.

Earl was deeply proud of his family, and his love for them shone brightly throughout his life. He is remembered by his beloved wife, Pauline Bair, his sons Bob (Julianne) Bair and Bill (Jeanne) Bair, and his cherished grandchildren, Merideth Cornelison, Tim (Shelly) Bair, and great-grandchildren Dylan Bair, Harper Bair, and Ethan Cornelison. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Marian (Jim) Rose and Norma (Hub) vanGent, along with numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy of love. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Florena Bair, and sister, Shirley Price.

Earl's gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and wonderful disposition enriched the lives of everyone he encountered. He was a quiet man, yet his presence was distinctly felt—raising his children with pride, mentoring his grandchildren, and nurturing warm connections with all those around him.
