Elaine Knapp, a spirited soul whose heart was as large as her personality, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 10, 1961, in St Louis, Missouri Elaine became a cherished figure whose impact on the lives around her is immeasurable.
Known for her tough exterior and warm heart, Elaine was a spitfire with a love for life that inspired all who knew her. Her sense of humor, often laced with sarcasm, brought laughter to family gatherings, while her caring nature ensured everyone felt valued and loved. Elaine’s children, Clarissa (Michael) Meier and Katrina (Chris) Rowland, and her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Olivia, Aubrey, Autumn, Lilly, Emersyn, and Dakota, were her pride and joy. They were her world, and her love for them was boundless.
Elaine was also famously known for her culinary skills; she was a good cook who believed everything was better when prepared on high heat. From her comforting biscuits and gravy to her much-beloved sub sandwiches, Elaine filled her home with delicious aromas that brought family together. She held a special place in her heart for croissant donuts, insisting they be just right, even going so far as to have Victor drive around to various Schnucks stores to find the perfect ones that weren't burnt.
She enjoyed her adventures at the casino, where she relished the thrill of the slot machines, and most of her spare time was spent loving on her grandchildren. Elaine's fun-loving spirit extended to her unique "office" in the bathtub, where she spent time making phone calls to her family each day, reminding them of her constant love and presence in their lives.
Elaine’s strength shone through as she faced life’s challenges, including the loss of her beloved mother Wilma Massey, her dear grannie, and her aunt Shirley Williams. Her resilience as a fighter and survivor will forever be remembered, along with the joy she brought to her beloved husband of 28 years, Victor Knapp. Together, they built a loving family and created a beautiful life filled with memories and laughter.
In addition to her beloved husband, loving daughters, and grandchildren, she is survived by her brother Rickey Massey, her sisters Darlene (Clint) Maxey and Earlene (Rebecca) Massey, her aunt JoAnne Wright, along with her nephews and nieces who will carry her memory forward.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elaine’s life at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Visitation will be held on August 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM culminating in a gathering filled with shared stories and cherished memories of a truly remarkable woman.
