Ethel L. Brogan, born on January 24, 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Bridgeton, Missouri. Ethel was a remarkable woman known for her outspoken nature, strong will, and vibrant spirit. She was always ready to party and embrace the joys of life, reflecting a personality that delighted those around her.
In her younger years, Ethel found great pleasure in tending to her garden and maintaining her home in pristine condition, showcasing her meticulous nature and love for beauty. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in her community, notably having been a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the VFW Post 2101.
Ethel is survived by her two sons, Terence James (Deborah) Brogan and Patrick Michael Brogan. She was also cherished by her two grandchildren, Paige A. Brogan and Riley A. Brogan. In addition to her immediate family, Ethel leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will remember her with affection and respect.
She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Raymond Arthur Brogan; her mother, Ida Whitworth; and her father, Frederick Whitworth.
Visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St. Peters, MO 63376. A graveside service will follow on July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125, concluding at 11:15 AM. Ethel’s legacy of strength and joy will continue to resonate through the memories of those who knew and loved her.
