Frieda L. Sachsenheimer, a woman whose life was a testament to love, patience, and unwavering devotion to family, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in her home in Ferguson, Missouri. Born on September 1, 1928, in Eldon, Missouri, Frieda’s remarkable journey spanned nearly a century, touching countless hearts with her generous spirit and warm presence.
Frieda was the embodiment of kindness and endurance—a patient, loving, and forgiving soul, known by all who knew her as one of the most forgiving people they had ever met. She carried a unique gift to ease burdens and heal wounds, always ready to fix anything for anyone. Her family was her cornerstone; she loved her sons immeasurably and stood as the closest thing to an angel on earth for those blessed to be part of her life. She would literally give you the shirt off her back and help anyone in need, prioritizing others above herself with a heart overflowing with compassion.
Her marriage to Louis William Sachsenheimer was one of her proudest accomplishments, a love that lasted an extraordinary 77 years, having never remarried after his passing in 1981. After Louis’s departure, Frieda remained devoted to the family they built, treasuring the memories and legacy they shared. She also proudly celebrated the lives of her sons and grandchildren, whose bright spirits were the fruits of her lifelong dedication.
Frieda’s personal joys were woven into the fabric of everyday life. She loved to play cards, delighting in the games and camaraderie they brought. A frequent visitor to the casino, she enjoyed the simple thrill of the slots but cherished even more the time spent socializing and making memories with her family. Trips to Florida with her loved ones and going trout fishing—a skill at which she excelled—brought her immense happiness. These moments of joy exemplified her zest for life and her love for adventure alongside those she cherished most.
She leaves behind a rich legacy through her surviving family and cherished chosen family: her loving sons, Steve (Diane) Sachsenheimer and Dan (Nancy) Sachsenheimer; her grandchildren Brian (Nicky) Sachsenheimer, Laura Brown, Matthew Sachsenheimer, Daniel Sachsenheimer, and Chelsea (Bradley) Christman; and her great-grandchildren Brendan Sachsenheimer, Anthony Dalton, Ashlynn Sachsenheimer, Landon Sachsenheimer, Kailyn Brown, Madelyn Brown, Sophia Brown, Emma Sachsenheimer, Louis Spies, Annabella Sachsenheimer, Lincoln Shelton, and Kennedy Christman. Frieda also held a special place in her heart for the McCulloh Family and her adoptive daughter, Diana (Kevin) Turner, who she considered family in every true sense.
While we celebrate those who remain, we also hold close the memories of those who have gone before: Frieda’s beloved husband, Louis William Sachsenheimer; her loving son, David Sachsenheimer; her parents, Charles and Eva Watson; and her grandson-in-law, Tony Brown. Their memory shines brightly in the continuation of Frieda’s story through the lives she nurtured and the love she so freely gave.
Friends and family will gather to honor Frieda’s beautiful life at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on June 26, 2026, and again on June 27 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. A funeral service will follow at 9:30 AM on June 27, with a graveside service to be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis at 11:00 AM.
Frieda L. Sachsenheimer's legacy is one of boundless love, quiet strength, and an unshakable commitment to family. She was a beacon of goodness in this world, a source of comfort and joy to many, and her spirit will forever illuminate the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. She has left behind a world made better by her touch, and though she is deeply missed, her love will continue to guide and inspire all who loved her.
