Gail Arleen Schormann, age 79, of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
Gail graduated from Brentwood High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter joined the family business, Jacobi Coiffures, in 1967 alongside her mother, Selma, and sister, Susan. She was very active in the community and served as a former High Priestess for the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. Gail enjoyed frequenting many local eateries with her “Ladies Who Lunch” group and had recently begun taking Spanish classes with a local group of friends.
Gail loved staying active and social. She enjoyed playing cards, trivia, bingo, and sudoku. She generously dedicated her time to volunteering at Shriner events and school activities, and she loved traveling with family, shopping, attending craft fairs and garage sales, bowling, fishing, gardening, visiting the casino, and helping loved ones with any task—big or small.
Gail will be remembered most for her selflessness, her unwavering dedication to family and friends, and her ability to make others feel cared for—often paired with a fresh new haircut. She was always willing to lend a hand, watch her grandchildren, or support those she loved without hesitation. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Selma Jacobi; her siblings, Alice, Clifford, Conrad, and Susan; and her husband of 30 years, Leslie Schormann.
Gail is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Kathy) Schormann, Lisa Claspill, Cynthia (Michael) Mesler, Christopher (Angela) Townsend, Angela (Michael) Johnson, Michael (Angela) Schormann, Robert Schormann, and Allison (Michael) Hartweck; her beloved fur baby, Luna; 21 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katy, Meagan, Jack, Ryan, Jesse, Keven, Paige, Jordan, Dalena, Serena, Isabelle, Mikayla, Jude, Caroline, Addison, Lillian, Savannah, Olivia, Hailey, and Emerie; and 3 great-grandchildren: Parker, Aaliyah, and Harlow.
She is also survived by her brother, David (Marcia) Jacobi; sisters-in-law, Doris Meister and Deanie Jacobi; brother-in-law, John Calcaterra; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
