It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary E. Bearden, who left this world on December 27, 2025, in St. Peters, Missouri. Born on March 26, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, Gary was a treasured son, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished brother.

Gary was educated at Hazelwood Central High School, from which he graduated in 1976, before furthering his studies at the Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Missouri, earning his degree in 1979. His professional journey showcased a remarkable career in tech, working as a Senior Field Engineer at Racal-Datacom from 1980-1989, followed by significant roles as a Technical Support Specialist at Nextira One until 2004, a Data Technician II at Xspedius Communications, and ultimately as a Provisioning Network Analyst at TW Communications up until 2015. Gary concluded his career in 2017, having served as a Data Technician II at XO Communications/Verizon.

Beyond his work, Gary was a man of many passions. He thrived in the great outdoors, finding joy in camping and exploring nature. A seeker of knowledge, he delighted in watching documentaries, learning about space, and sharing his findings with those around him. He embodied a spirit of fun and adventure, a prankster and jokester whose infectious laughter brightened the lives of family and friends alike. Gary had an immense love for music, particularly Classic Rock, and found solace in painting and drawing, always expressing his creativity through art.

However, above all, Gary's greatest joy came from the time spent with his family and long-time friend, Eric Brainer. He cherished every moment with his children, Michael, Rachel, and Rebecca, and grandchildren, Caytlin, Peyton, Brody, George William, and Joseph, nurturing their dreams and supporting their endeavors. His love for them was boundless, and they, in turn, brought immeasurable happiness into his life.

Gary is survived by his beloved mother, Alice Bearden; his vibrant daughters, Rachel (Brian) Henkelman and Rebecca Baskin; his loving siblings, Edwin "Ed" (Ann) Bearden, Beverly "Bev" (George) Scott, and Robin "Shelly" (Wes Johnson) Kurcell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. He also joins his deceased family members, his father, William Bearden, and his son, Michael Joel Bearden, whom he loved deeply.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on January 9, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, a moment to honor the joyful life of Gary E. Bearden.

Though Gary has left this earthly plane, his spirit, laughter, and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy will continue to inspire others to find laughter in the small things, not take life so seriously, embrace the wonders of life, and cherish the time spent with loved ones.
