Gary M. King Sr., a dedicated family man and consummate professional, passed away on May 5, 2026. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 17, 1945, Gary’s life was marked by perseverance, strength of character, and a deep commitment to those he loved.

Gary’s journey was one of steadfast determination. He and his wife put themselves through college together by taking night classes, ultimately earning their Bachelor’s Degree - they even walked together at their graduation. His career was distinguished by a tenure at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, from which he retired in 1996. Not content to rest on his laurels, Gary pursued a variety of roles thereafter, demonstrating versatility and a tireless work ethic. His professional endeavors included service as a financial consultant with Edward Jones, a car salesman for Pundmann Ford, and various positions in sales for Bassett Furniture among others. Throughout his career, Gary exemplified integrity and dedication.

A man of strong morals and tenacity, Gary was known as a great provider, always ensuring his family’s needs were met. His character was marked by unwavering steadfastness and an unshakeable commitment to his principles.

Outside of his professional life, Gary had a rich tapestry of interests that reflected his curious and spirited nature. He enjoyed radio control cars and model planes, harbored a love of trains and history, and even showed an inquisitive side by exploring the mysteries of extraterrestrial life.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary (Kim) King Jr., and his daughter, Patricia King. He took immense pride in his family, which includes seven grandchildren: Jackie King, Amber (Doug) Ross, Adam (Rachel) King, Clayton King, Lauren King, Gary King III, and Virgil “Louie” Brissette, as well as six great-grandchildren: Elizabeth King, Maddy King, Abby King, Gabriel King, Pierson King O’Connell, and Charlotte Ross. He is remembered and cherished by a host of other beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene A. King; his mother, Opal King; and his father, Kermit King.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, on May 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on May 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at the same location on May 29, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place with a graveside service at Our Lady Cemetery & Mausoleum in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Gary M. King Sr.’s life was one of honor, hard work, and love. He leaves behind a legacy defined by strength, devotion, and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and family. His memory will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
