Gerald "Jerry" Mack Belk, 79, of Wentzville passed away Monday August 25, 2025. He was born to Claude Everett and Mary June Belk on April 15, 1946, in St. Louis, MO.
Jerry graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1963 and enlisted in the United States Airforce in the Fall of that same year. He was stationed in Grand Forks, ND and served as a Jet Aircraft Mechanic on the B-52 Stratofortress. He married Phyllis M. Fournier on Sept 3, 1966. They would later divorce.
Jerry worked as a Maintenance Technician for Monsanto, which would eventually become MEMC, for over 40 years. As an extremely skilled mechanic, he was tasked with repairing and maintaining the equipment that produced, sliced, and coated the silicone wafers that would go on to become semiconductor chips. He took great pride in his job and was well respected for the work that he did. Early in his career at Monsanto, he was tagged with the nickname "Beeker" and he proudly carried it the rest of his life.
Jerry enjoyed big-game hunting in Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, target shooting with rifles, as well as skeet and trap shooting. He also enjoyed fishing with his friends.
Jerry was an active member of the AMVETS Post 106 in St. Peters and considered all of the members part of his extended family. Always interested in lending a hand, he volunteered to help in as many activities held at The Post as he could. He was extremely passionate about, and very involved in raising money for The Nursing Scholarship Fund through the AMVETS Sad Sack Organization.
Jerry is survived by his only child: Gregory Belk (Jennifer) and three grandchildren: Wyatt Belk, Brennon Belk, and Arianna Belk. He is also survived by his loving partner and traveling companion Carol Jorden. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Claude and June Belk and life partner Lorraine Stroud.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Sad Sacks, Post 106 and mailed to 360 Brown Road, St. Peters, MO 63376.
