Glennon Leroy Arnold, lovingly known as Glenn, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on December 29, 1948, in Ste Genevieve, Missouri, a fitting start to a life lived with passion, dedication, and unwavering love for family.
His remarkable journey began at Valle Catholic High School, where he graduated in 1967. His tenacity on the football field as an Offensive Lineman was legendary, culminating in an undefeated and unscored upon Senior Year that he cherished for a lifetime. It was there that he honed not only his athletic skills but also the values that would guide him throughout life.
Continuing his education, Glenn received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Southeast Missouri State University. His connections with his fraternity brothers from Tau Kappa Epsilon became a cherished part of his life. It was during this pivotal time that he met his beloved wife, Mary, with whom he would share over 54 years of marriage. Together, they created a loving home filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of family.
Glenn carved out a significant legacy as a Custom Home Builder, working at DeShetler Homes in St. Louis for over forty years and ultimately taking over ownership of the company. He was fiercely loyal, with business negotiations conducted over lunch with a handshake and a promise, leaving behind a reputation built on trust and dedication. His witty personality and love for making bets on anything made him a memorable figure, whether at work or among friends.
Outside of his hard work, Glenn found joy in socializing, often accompanied by cherished friends over games and cards, relishing every moment spent fishing or golfing. As an active member of the Elk's Lodge #2058, where he was a staple at "Monday Lunch," an avid BARGO player, and a Queen of Hearts fan. He embraced life's simple pleasures, ensuring each day was filled with family and good friends.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Arnold (née Schulte), his loving sons, Tony (Laura) Arnold and Andy Arnold, and his daughter Nicole (Chad) Rolofson. He took great pride in his grandchildren: Emily and Will Arnold, Chase, Kaya, Elle, and Ryder Rolofson, who brought him immeasurable joy and laughter. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Peggy) Arnold, and sisters Annie (the late Paul) Bauman, Glenda (the late Ron) Adler, Jane (Glen) Naeger, and Mary (Steve) Adams, along with many other beloved family members and friends.
In his passing, Glenn leaves behind a treasure trove of memories, with his many “Benny stories” destined to live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him best. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marie (née Basler) Arnold, and his sister, Darlene (Kenny) Giesler.
His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will forever resonate among all who had the privilege of knowing him. Glenn's life is a testament to the power of family, friendship, and the meaningful connections that bind us together. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered.
