.Gordon Leslie Becker, born on December 15, 1941, in Saint Louis, departed this life on May 26, 2025. Gordon led a distinguished career as an IT specialist, dedicating his expertise to both McDonnell Douglas/Boeing and Union Pacific. His professional journey was marked by a commitment to excellence and innovation.

A proud graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Gordon earned his Bachelor’s Degree, laying the foundation for his career in technology. Beyond his professional achievements, he also proudly served in the United States Army, embodying the values of duty and service to his country.

Gordon's personal life was equally remarkable. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Marie Becker, with whom he shared nearly 60 years of love and companionship. Their bond was one of deep affection and mutual respect, and while he mourns her passing, he cherishes the memories of their time together.

Gordon had a passion for the outdoors, and he embraced nature as an avid outdoorsman. He was a dedicated Eagle Scout and enjoyed spending time in the garden and fishing. His love for gardening allowed him to create beauty in his surroundings, and his fishing trips were a source of serenity and joy. He was a prolific member of the Audubon Society and loved to cultivate new woodland wherever he could - nobody planted more trees than Gordon.

He was also proud to be a member of MENSA, reflecting his intelligence and love for learning.

Gordon is survived by his son, Grant (Lynnette) Becker; his sister, Elaine (Wayne) Prosser; his nephew, Bart Prosser; his niece, Kristen (Matt) Crecilius; and two great nieces, Lily Crecilius and Avery Crecilius, along with a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
