Harold W. Stenzinger, a devoted father, loving husband, and dedicated servant of his country, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri, at the age of 93. Born on March 20, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, Harold lived a life full of passion, service, and cherished memories.
For 17 years, Harold served as an Air Traffic Controller, a career that required exceptional focus and commitment. His journey took him to vibrant cities, including Chicago, Kansas City, Miami, and St. Louis, where he played an essential role in keeping the skies safe for countless travelers. Following this, he spent 20 years as a school bus driver, where he continued his legacy of care and responsibility, nurturing the next generation with kindness during their daily journeys.
A proud veteran, Harold honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1960 during the Korean War, earning the National Defense Service Medal for his dedication. His commitment to his family and country was evident throughout his life, enriched by the values instilled in him.
Harold's love for life extended beyond his professional roles; he was a man of many interests. He had a penchant for photography, capturing the world through his lens, and a passion for working in his yard, which blossomed under his attentive care. An avid fan of Cardinals Baseball, he shared many joyous moments watching the games, his heart swelling with pride for his team. Harold also enjoyed traveling and boating—wonderful memories were created with his family, especially during trips to Branson and boating adventures at Mark Twain Lake.
He had a special bond with his children, Tim and Jean, always placing their needs above his own. Tim will forever treasure how his dad could effortlessly identify planes flying overhead, while Jean recalls the delightful times spent together, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. Harold's influence was profound; he loved them deeply and worked hard to ensure they had everything they wanted and needed to thrive.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Stenzinger, who he admired and cherished throughout their lives together, as well as his parents, Bertha and Ernest Stenzinger, and his siblings, Ernie and Violet. Their memories live on through Harold's lasting legacy.
Harold leaves behind his loving children, Tim (Krissy) Stenzinger and Jean (Rob Harrison) Stenzinger, who will carry forward the lessons he imparted with love and dedication. While the world feels a little dimmer without him, his spirit will forever inspire those who knew him.
