Henrietta "Hank" Schmidt, born October 30, 1932, peacefully passed away on April 23, 2026. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will be deeply cherished by all who knew her. Hank was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Ronald J. Schmidt, Sr., with whom she shared many treasured years. She also preceded in death by her devoted parents, Henry Brune and Amalia Brune; her five sisters, Helen Richter, Therese Breher, Mildred Moran, Lucile Belter, and Amalia "Molly" Gnau; as well as her brother, James Brune.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Loree Churchill, and son-in-law Chris Meyer. Hank’s legacy continues through her three sons, Ronald J. Schmidt, Jr., Christopher J. Schmidt, and Joel J. Schmidt, who carry forward her spirit of dedication and care. Her family circle extends warmly to her granddaughter, Jessica Chronis, and her husband George Chronis, as well as to her two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Chronis and Olivia Chronis. Beyond these immediate family members, Henrietta's life touched the hearts of numerous relatives and friends who will forever remember her kindness and generosity.
Visitation to honor and remember Hank will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The visitation will begin on April 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A second visitation will take place the following day, May 1, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Her funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM on May 1, 2026, offering a solemn and heartfelt farewell to this remarkable woman.
Henrietta "Hank" Schmidt’s enduring influence and vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her journey on this earth was one of devotion, resilience, and boundless love, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
