Jaime Eduardo Ramos, affectionately known as “Dad”, “Honey”, “Bito”, and “Jimi”, passed at the age of 57 at home on September 30th, 2025. Enduring a long and courageous battle with chronic illnesses, he fought against all odds until he could fight no more. He persevered when everything was stacked against him. Now he may rest in heaven, whole once again.
Jaime was a devoted and loving father to Thomas and a committed husband to Phyllis. He always made sure to be there for his family in every way possible despite all challenges. He and Phyllis began their journey by falling in love 25 years ago. Together they created a "Master Plan" which led them to a beautiful marriage and their son, Thomas. Jaime was always so proud to be a father and husband and bragged about his family often. He was an exceptional dad who supported Thomas in all his life's achievements, challenges and decisions.
He was raised by his mother, Darlene Jean, his father, Jaime Luis, and by his stepmother, Colleen. He was also a loving brother, uncle, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, close friend and colleague to many. He was also a wonderful doggy daddy to his pups – Cosmo, Ellie, Coco, Chewie, and Jazzy. He sorely missed his mother and sister who passed before him.
Jaime was a talented, award-winning Pulp Science-fiction writer of short stories and novellas. He took pride in his collaborations with other creators and valued their critique and friendship. His writing was his life’s work, and a passion he continued through to the end of his life.
Jaime was also a life-long fan of the Chicago Bears. He always cheered them on, despite them perpetually building another championship team like the Bears of 1985. He and Phyllis celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary by attending a game at Soldier Field. It was a wonderful time despite the loss, the cold, and the heckling Patriots fans, and he was elated to be there.
We will now and forever celebrate Jaime's life and hold on to his memory. We know our experiences with him as well as the love he bestowed will continue to nurture us until we are together again. May he always be in our hearts.
Memorial services for Jaime will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. Arrival and visitation will be from 11am to 12pm, followed by the funeral service from 12pm to 1pm. Newcomer Funeral Home is located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr St. Peters, MO, 63376.
