James Charles “Jim” Kramer, 87, went home to be with his Lord on November 26, 2025. He passed peacefully.
Born on September 16, 1938, Jim proudly served his country as a United States military veteran (Army). He went on to enjoy a long and distinguished career as a aeronautical engineer (McDonnell Douglas, Prime Mover, DRS), solving complex problems with the same steady hand and sharp mind he applied to every part of life. Jim, for many years, was also an active member of the Gateway Miata club.
Above all, Jim was a man of deep Christian faith. His love for Jesus was the foundation of everything he did, and that faith led him to be a quiet but unwavering defender of the unborn. For decades he prayed, gave, marched when he was able, and stood firmly for the belief that every life is a sacred gift from God. He carried that conviction with gentleness and grace, never compromising yet always speaking the truth in love.
Jim was the devoted husband of Glenda Kramer for 64 years and the proud father of Dan Kramer (Lisa Stoner), Matthew Kramer (Christy), Laura Kramer-Lucas (Tony), and Thomas (Tommy) Kramer. He is also survived by eight cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Katie, Anna, Allison, Ellen, Tommy, Natalie; one precious great-great-grandchild (Emma); and countless friends and brothers- and sisters-in-Christ who became family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Julia, brothers, Dave and Bob; sister Linda; and his son, Thomas "Tommy" Kramer.
On November 26, Jim stepped into the place his Savior prepared for him—joined now by Tommy and by every little one he prayed for on this side of heaven—and heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a pro-life ministry or the Lutheran High School (St. Charles).
Rest easy, faithful soldier of Christ.
