James J. Mutz, fondly known as Jim, made his grand entrance into the world on August 26, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With a personality that brightened every room, he was not only smart and witty but also a treasure trove of dad jokes that brought laughter and joy to those around him. His life journey came to a peaceful close on October 23, 2025, as he passed away in his sleep at home, in St. Charles, Missouri lovingly surrounded by his devoted wife, Ginnie by his side.

Jim devoted a piece of his heart and soul to serving in the United States Air Force, an experience that defined a chapter of his life with pride and honor.

At the core of Jim’s life was his loving family. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Ginnie, who stood by his side through all of life's countless adventures. Together for over 60-years, they embraced the challenges and triumphs of life with unwavering love and support. Their bond was a testament to a partnership built on devotion and respect.

As a proud father, Jim is survived by his beloved sons, Jim and Scott Mutz. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Hanna Asher, Ryan Mutz, Sean Mutz, and his great-grandsons Declan Mutz and Jasper Mutz. Each of them brought immense joy to his life, and they will carry forward his spirit, stories, and, undoubtedly, his famous dad jokes.

Jim was also preceded in death by his dear parents, Joseph and Josephine Mutz, who shaped the man he became, instilling values of kindness, integrity, and laughter that he passed on to his family. Although he has departed from this earthly realm, the love he shared will resonate within the hearts of those who knew him.

As we reflect on Jim's life, we celebrate the laughter, love, and joy he brought to us all. Now at peace and free from suffering, he will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be etched in our hearts and stories—a legacy of laughter, love, and devotion that will continue to light our paths.
