On August 2, 2025, James (Jim) Patrick Riley, age 72, passed away peacefully at home in St. Charles, Missouri, surrounded by his loving wife and grandson. He was born on March 27, 1953, to the late Joseph and Virginia (Horrell) Riley.
Jim will be remembered for his sharp wit, playful sense of humor, and unwavering work ethic. He would often joke that driving was his passion. Above all, he always showed up for the ones he cared about and loved offering support whenever it was needed.
In his earlier days, Jim enjoyed long bike rides, competitive games of Scrabble, and evenings spent playing cards. Some of his happiest moments were pool wiffle ball games with family, where laughter and lighthearted rivalry were guaranteed. Later in life, his greatest joys came from watching his grandchildren grow up, especially cheering them at their sporting events.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Pashia-Riley; his daughters, Shannon (Joey) Furman and Nicole (Eric) Eisen; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayden and Easton Lazear, Dani and Charli Eisen, and Grayson Furman.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Faye Pashia; sisters-in-law Laura (Mike “Oz”) Roth and Stefanie Pashia; nieces Erica (Benjamin) Guittar and Becca (Viktor) Kvarnlöf, Grace and Griffin Snodgrass; many great-nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Bob Lee and Vince Fallert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Maurice Pashia, sister-in-law Linda Pashia, and nephew Jacob Roth.
Jim will be deeply missed by a family who adored him and will carry his memory forward through stories and the laughter he so often inspired.
