James "Dale" Ross, affectionately known as Dale, was born on October 19, 1975, and he entered eternal rest on September 24, 2025. Dale's life, though it was marked by trials, was characterized by his generous spirit and deep love for his family and friends.
Dale spent his final days bravely facing the challenges he encountered. He is now at peace, free from the pain that had burdened him for so long.
Throughout his life, Dale displayed a passion for various hobbies, with a particular fondness for sports and sports collecting. An avid fisherman, he found great joy in the outdoors and often sought solace in nature. His willingness to extend a helping hand exemplified the kind of person he was; always ready to support those around him. Dale cherished his role as an uncle as well as a great-uncle, taking immense pride in his relationships with his nieces and nephews, whom he adored.
Family was the light of Dale's life. He enjoyed his time with his cousins, and his relationship over the years with Rex Otten was important to him. His spirit will be remembered by all who knew him as that of a gentle giant with a teddy bear heart who offered the most comforting hugs. However, Dale’s most cherished accomplishment was becoming a father to his son, Tyler. Who was the center of Dale's world and provided him with much love, pride and joy.
Dale's family includes his beloved son, Tyler James Michael Ross, and he is lovingly remembered by his sister, Cindy (Michael) Crocker-Gober; his twin brother, Michael "Dan" Ross; His brother's, Rick (Christine) Crocker, Randy (Christy) Crocker, and Ron (Monica) Crocker. He also leaves behind three nieces, Heather Foster, Jessica McCarthy, and Taylor Crocker, as well as four nephews, Joe (Nicholle) Hong, Joshua (Natalie) Hong, Cameron Crocker, and Zac (Adriana) Crocker, along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Dale was raised by Helen and Ernie Crocker, preceded in death by his mother, Mary "Larry" Herring. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Melanie Wood, and his nephew, Ernie Foster.
Visitation and funeral services will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St. Peters, MO 63376. The visitation is scheduled for September 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM.
