Janean Faye Shaffar, a vibrant spirit born on October 12, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Ellisville, Missouri. Janean embraced life with youthful energy and an unwavering commitment to living it on her own terms. Known for her strong beliefs and a life that truly reflected her values, she was a quintessential embodiment of a 'hippy' in every sense of the word.
Throughout her life, Janean engaged in various interests that showcased her creative and nurturing nature. A passionate reader and talented musician, she took great joy in painting and playing the piano, where her musical talents shone brightly. In her younger years, she shared unforgettable moments with her son, including the joys of surfing, a reflection of her adventurous spirit.
Janean leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her son, Christopher James (Melanie) Shaffar; her daughter, Donetta Bridges; her grandchildren, Sheria (John) Ragno, Brandon (Adrianna) Bridges, Jia'Anna (Patrick) Carron, and Mya Shaffar; as well as her great-grandchildren, Makenna Bridges, James Bridges, John Ragno III, Emma-Lynn Ragno, Nova Carron, and Laurence Carron. She also leaves behind her brothers, Michael (Linda) Shaffar and Robert Shaffar.
Janean was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Shaffar, and her step-father, Stanley Pete Shaffar. Her life, marked by authenticity and creativity, will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Janean's life will be celebrated in a small, private family service.
