Jess Alfred Jones, born on December 15, 1954, in Clarendon, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, May 2, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to the ones he cherished most.
Jess dedicated 42 years of his life to Hussmann Refrigeration, where his industrious spirit and strong work ethic were a testament to his character. Following his retirement, he filled his days with hobbies and passions that brought him joy. A true gun enthusiast, Jess found great pleasure in target shooting at the VFW hall, and he could often be found in his garage, tinkering and proudly customizing his favorite firearms. His love for the outdoors extended to his yard, where he spent countless hours cultivating a space that reflected his dedication and care.
Above all the accolades and accomplishments, it was his family that brought him the greatest pride. Jess had an incredible ability to make all those around him feel loved and valued. He had a generous spirit and would do anything for anybody, which endeared him to many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Jones, and his adoring daughter, Rochelle (Keith) Patton. Jess's heart swelled with love for his granddaughters, Avenly Jones, Alysa Heuer, and Ashtyn Heuer, and he delighted in the joy of his great-granddaughters, Charley and Cooper. He also had the support and companionship of his sisters, Ginger and Nancy, as well as his brothers, Harry and Keith.
Jess was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Jones, and his brother, Tim. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched during his lifetime.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Jess's life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. As friends and loved ones come together to honor his memory, they will cherish the time spent and the countless ways he enriched their lives.
Jess will be deeply missed, but his spirit will living on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he influenced with his kindness and generosity. May he rest in eternal peace.
