John J. Capstick, born September 24, 1938, passed away on August 4, 2026. His long life was marked by a deep commitment to his family, enduring passions, and a remarkable ability to find joy in the simplest of pleasures.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Capstick, who stood by his side throughout many years of shared experiences and milestones. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Pam (Rich) Hart, and his son, Steve (Carla) Capstick, He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of who will remember Jack for his unwavering support and guidance.
Preceding him in death are John’s brother, Robert Capstick, and his parents, Malvern and Mary Lange. Jack also mourned the loss of his son, Michael Capstick, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Jack was a man of varied interests, with a special affection for fishing and horse racing. His zest for life found further expression in the many cruises he took, each journey providing new opportunities for adventure and discovery. A cherished grandfather, Jack treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, particularly finding great joy in attending their sporting events. These experiences brought immense happiness and pride, enriching his later years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at a visitation to be held on September 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376. A memorial service will be held the following day September 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
John J. Capstick’s legacy is one of dedication to loved ones, a spirited embrace of life's pleasures, and a profound appreciation for family bonds. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
