John William Myers, Sr. passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family, who were all too happy to finally reclaim their phones from the many, many 5 AM butt-dials he soley bestowed upon them. Born on September 1, 1961, in Florissant, Missouri, John was a man who epitomized the phrase "jack-of-all-trades" but mastered none...except perhaps the art of early morning phone etiquette.

John spent his life working in construction and even owned his own business, much to the delight of anyone who needed help with anything from laying a foundation to deciding whether beige or off-beige was the better color choice for house trim. He was always easy-going, always willing to lend a hand, and if you ever needed advice on fixing a car, building a birdhouse, or just wanted to have company, John was your guy! If there was a tool involved, you could bet he’d be there with a smile (and probably the wrong tool for the job).

He had a true love for the great outdoors—especially if it involved fishing or hunting, or piling into a car with his sons for yet another vehicle-related bonding trip. If there was a broken engine, a sagging deck, or an unquenchable thirst for adventure, you could count on John to lead the charge, often with his sons right behind him, wondering if they should really trust him this time.

John's pride and joy were undoubtedly his beloved sons: John (Jennifer) Myers, Jr., Bradley (Brittani Kloda) Myers, Jamie (Richie) Russell, and Ryan (Anna) Lee, who found a way to survive his many “helpful” projects (and butt dials). He leaves behind a legion of grandchildren—Dominik, Zakary, Dylan, Briana, Braydan, Alastair, Kayley, Kaiden, Alina, and Alyona—who will fondly remember him as the grandfather who somehow always had the greatest stories and the weakest Wi-Fi signal when they tried to FaceTime him.

He is also survived by his sister, Jill (Rick) Brooks, and a collection of nephews and nieces, including Adam Myers, Ricky Brooks, and Jessie (Matt) Eaton, who will now have to find someone else to butt dial at ungodly hours.

John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Myers, his parents, James (Hilda) Myers and Mary (Dave) Nielson, as well as his brother, James A. (Linda A.) Myers, Jr. Together they must be having quite the reunion, likely discussing hunting spots and the best traps to avoid getting stuck in.

In remembrance of John, may we all embrace our inner DIY enthusiast, tell the most exaggerated fishing tales, and remember that it’s always better to call someone at a reasonable hour (unless it’s an emergency, of course)!
