John Patrick Phillips, born on March 4, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, whose kind-hearted nature and zest for life touched everyone he encountered.

For most of his life, John dedicated himself to the world of sales, culminating in his ownership of Rock Road Scooter Company, where he found joy in sharing his passion for scooters with others. His vibrant personality made him an exceptional salesman, but more importantly, he was a wonderful storyteller. Friends and family will fondly remember him for his humor and his ability to light up a room with laughter. John had a gift for making everyone feel at ease; he never met a stranger and was always eager to share a joke or a captivating story.

John was a proud graduate of Lutheran South High School, which served as a foundation for his future endeavors. Beyond his career, he had diverse interests that enriched his life. A man of many talents, he loved to play music, often filling his home with the sounds of his favorite songs through his Alexa. "Let the Mystery Be" by Greg Brown held a special place in his heart, capturing the spirit of his vibrant personality. He was also an avid guitarist, enjoying both electric and acoustic styles, and he cherished quiet moments spent fly fishing, finding solace in nature. His beloved feline companion, Lucky, was never far from his side, adding to the warmth of his home.

John took immense pride in his family, viewing them as his greatest accomplishment in life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vilma Phillips; his daughter, Jenny (Bryan Jack) Deyto; his sons, Dominic Deyto, Spencer Phillips, and Brian (Jennifer Garrett) Phillips; and his cherished granddaughter, Meadow Phillips. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Nancy (the late Walter) Kittelberger, and niece, Stephanie (Arvin Gajito) Gorostiza. John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sterling Phillips, Sr. and Marilyn Phillips, and his brother, Sterling Phillips, Jr.

To honor his life, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM at Holy Infant Catholic Church, located at 627 Dennison Drive, Ballwin, MO 63021.

John Patrick Phillips will be deeply missed by all who knew him—a beacon of kindness, laughter, and love, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he cherished.
