Joseph Michael Goris, affectionately known as Joe or Joey, left this world too soon on July 4, 2025, at the tender age of 23. Born on March 22, 2002, in St. Louis, Missouri, Joseph was a vibrant spirit, brimming with life and laughter, whose infectious smile could light up the darkest of days.
Joe's journey began in St. Charles, where he attended Orchard Farms High School and laid the foundations for a bright future. After school, he joined the workforce as a Shift Manager at A&W Root Beer, where his bubbly and fun-loving personality left a lasting impression on both coworkers and patrons alike. He was known for his generous spirit and the joy he brought into every interaction.
Joseph was an adventurer at heart. He loved the outdoors, frequently immersing himself in activities such as camping, fishing, and swimming. Those who knew him will fondly remember the laughter that echoed through the woods during fishing trips with his father, and the exhilarating moments of climbing walls, where he would leap down like Spiderman to playfully tease his siblings. His passion for the outdoors was paralleled only by his interests in anime, building Lego creations, and constructing model bunkers – a testament to his imaginative spirit.
One of Joe's proudest accomplishments was becoming an Eagle Scout, a milestone that not only showcased his dedication and hard work but also reflected his deep commitment to helping others and his local community. As one who was always thinking of those around him, his caring nature and willingness to lend a hand earned him widespread admiration.
Joseph's laughter could fill a room, resonating with warmth and affection. He shared an incredible bond with his mother characterized by hours of joyful laughter that would bring them closer. Alongside his loving parents, Frank John Goris and Patricia Kaye (Bruce Thomas) Smith, Joseph was surrounded by a close-knit family who adored him. He was the beloved brother to Rebecca Sue Bell, Leah Michelle (Brandon) Hampshire, William Allen Goris, and Michael Anthony Goris; he is also survived by his nephew, Jack Hampshire and many other cherished family members who were always by his side, sharing memories and experiences filled with love.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his doting parents and his siblings, who are left to carry on his legacy of kindness, laughter, and adventure. Also remembered are his grandfathers, Allen Goris and Daniel Finn, his grandmother Teresa Goris, his uncle Daniel Coleman, Sr., and his step-grandfather Charlie Muick, who have preceded him in death, a family connection that remains timeless.
A visitation to honor Joseph's life will be held on July 25, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, concluding with a memorial gathering from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, in St. Peters, MO.
