Joseph Anthony Suftko, fondly known as Joe, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, surrounded by loving family. Born on July 5, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, Joe lived a life rich with love, laughter, and connection.
A successful business owner, Joe opened Omega Plumbing in 1984, thriving in both residential and commercial plumbing. His career was marked not just by his professional achievements, but also by the warmth he extended to everyone he met. Joe was known for his big personality—bold, fun, generous, and kind. He was a steadfast and loyal friend and the kind of person who could light up a room with his humor and friendly demeanor.
Joe's greatest pride lay in his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Suftko, who stood by him through every twist and turn of life. His legacy is carried on by his loving children: Patti (Bob) Zwick, Julie Merkel, Jody (Kaori Nakamura) Suftko, and Karen (Peter) Odman. He delighted in the accomplishments of his grandchildren—Christina (John) Wilson, Kiley (Joe) Gresick, Kelsey (Emily) Zwick, Shelvie Suftko, Bradley Odman, Nathan Odman, Jack Odman, and Kyle Nakamura—and cherished every moment spent with his great-grandchildren: Ema Wilson, Callie Wilson, Logan Wilson, and Lauren Gresick...
Joe was a man who found joy in simple pleasures. He loved watching his grandchildren and great nieces and nephew play sports, indulging in family outings, and going on fishing trips. Memories shared over games of cards, thrilling days at the racetrack, and cross-country trips to sporting events are etched in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to share in his journey.
He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Gus) Marsala, his nephews JJ (Dena) Suftko and Don (Dana) Suftko, along with many other extended family members and friends, including the entire Delaloye Family, Bud Merkel and Kevin Feicht, who cherished his friendship and kindness.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cecelia Suftko, his parents-in-law, Emily and Elmer Delaloye, and his brother, Donald (Rosalie) Suftko. Their memory lives on in the stories shared and the lessons learned from such an extraordinary man.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joe's life on November 5, 2025, at the Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
