Joseph Anthony Walchshauser

June 29, 1937 — June 27, 2025

St. Peters

Joseph "Joe" Anthony Walchshauser, age 87, of St.Peters, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his devoted wife of 64 years, Janet, and loving family, following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Born on June 29, 1937, in St. Louis, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Nona (Schumann) Walchshauser. He was a graduate of St. Louis University High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from St. Louis University in 1959, where he also participated in the ROTC program. Joe married Janet Meier in 1961, and together raised three sons, building a life centered on love, commitment, and family.

Joe dedicated 21 years of service to the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Major, and later enjoyed a 13-year career at McDonnell Douglas. He found joy in camping, traveling with friends, building HO and N scale model train layouts, and spending fun times with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and Green Bay Packers.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Janet Walchshauser; children, Jeffrey (Tamara), David (Martha), and Donald, as well as four grandchildren: Joseph, Sean, Marisa, and Logan.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Joe’s honor.
