Julie Christine True, affectionately known as JuJu, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in her home in St. Charles, Missouri, surrounded by the loving presence of her family. Born on January 29, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri, Julie lived a life marked by boundless compassion, fierce dedication, and an unyielding spirit that inspired all who knew her.
Julie’s journey was one of service and love, beginning with her graduation from Sanford Brown University with an associate's degree in nursing. For 23 years, she devoted herself tirelessly to the care of others, rising to the esteemed role of assistant nursing director. Her work was more than a career—it was a calling. Known for her kindness and willingness to give everything for her residents, she left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Julie was bossy yet funny, sweet yet opinionated, embodying a spirited personality that was outgoing, caring, and always full of a good sense of humor. Her love for her family was profound, and she approached life with bravery and an unshakable fighter’s heart.
Outside of her professional life, Julie was a woman of many passions and delights. She had a true gift in the kitchen, renowned for her amazing cooking and baking that brought joy to family and friends alike. Gardening and canning were among her cherished hobbies, as was traveling, especially the Nurse Float Trip, which combined her love for adventure and camaraderie. Evenings out to a Mexican restaurant for margaritas and fajitas were some of her favorite ways to share laughter and good times with those dear to her. Julie’s joy extended into every season, especially Christmas, when she delighted in finding the perfect gifts for everyone she loved.
Julie’s family was her heart and soul. Her marriage to Jimmy True, her beloved husband of 35 years, was a partnership of complementary strength—she was the thinker, and Jimmy was the doer. Together, they shared a companionship filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Their son, Parker True, was the light of her life. Though she was sometimes tough on him, her pride in Parker was immeasurable, and her devotion was unmistakable. Julie was also deeply connected to her parents, Donna (Brian) Ringwald and Gary (Pat) Maher, and her siblings: her sister Becky (Eric) Olexa, and her brothers Sean (Paula) Maher, Nicholas Ringwald, and Brad (Allie) Ringwald. She cherished her nieces, Grace Ringwald, Samantha (Rhett) VanMeter, and Maggie Maher, and her nephews, Cal Ringwald and Deklen Olexa. Though she mourned the loss of her brother Corey Maher, her uncle Willie Seibel, and her grandparents Don Seibel and Helen and Guy Maher, her spirit thrived in the embrace of her living family and the enduring love of her friends.
Friends were a vital part of Julie’s life, especially through her illness, where their support and love were a testament to the many lives she had touched. She fought bravely and with grace until the very end, embodying her resilient spirit and unwavering strength.
A visitation will be held on April 21, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 PM the same day at the same location, allowing all who knew and loved Julie to gather, remember, and celebrate a remarkable life.
