A dedicated caregiver and medical technician for many years, Karen made a significant impact in the lives of others through her work with patients, particularly those with special needs, as well as her Alzheimer's patient, Okie. Her passion for caregiving was matched by her compassionate approach and unwavering commitment to her patients' well-being.
Karen pursued her education at North County Tech, where she specialized in Lithography. In her personal life, Karen was known for her vibrant personality; she possessed a delightful sense of humor and was characterized by her kind heart and strong will. She approached life on her own terms and left an indelible impression on those lucky enough to know her.
Animals held a special place in Karen's heart, and she cared deeply for her beloved pets. Her love for animals reflected her nurturing spirit and kind nature. Karen was also a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 44 years, a testament to her resilience and dedication to personal growth and recovery.
In her passing, Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky Allen, as well as her two sisters, Lynn (Rick) Barnett and Sue (Tim) Kavanaugh. She is also cherished by a wide circle of family, including cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Philip Lawrence Burgess, Jr., and her mother, Jacqueline Yvonne Burgess.
The legacy of Karen E. Allen will be honored during visitation and memorial services held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on September 19, 2025, with visitation starting at 2:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 3:30 PM. The family requests that guests come dressed casually.
