Karen Ann Schnettgoecke, age 63, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. She was born in St. Charles, Missouri on October 12, 1959 to John and Billie Schaffrin (nee Miller).
Karen is survived by her children, Dani (Vida Vazquez) Schnettgoecke and Jake (Kristin) Schnettgoecke; step-daughter, Sherrie (Kats) Berryhill; grandchildren, Celia Schnettgoecke, Winston Schnettgoecke, Serena Schnettgoecke, Brayden Berryhill, and Katelyn Berryhill; brothers, John Carl Schnettgoecke, Jr., and Mark (Barb) Schaffrin; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Schnettgoecke; father, John Carl Schaffrin, Sr.; mother, Billie Louise Schaffrin; and sister, Wilma (Jerry) Forck.
Karen worked as a postal clerk for USPS for 20 years before taking a well-deserved early retirement at the age of 50. Before that, she was the manager of a pizza restaurant, where she received numerous awards.
She spent much of her retirement doing both relaxing camping trips, as well as traveling to various parts of the Caribbean. She spent much of her time socializing at the casino with her husband Tom. She often enjoyed relaxing at home where she crocheted blankets and gifts for her grandchildren while watching re-runs of shows like M.A.S.H.
Karen was known for always working hard and putting others before herself. She loved nothing more than being a mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karen's honor may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
