Kathleen Moore (affectionately known as "Nola" by her family), whose loving spirit touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1948, in Belleville, Illinois, the cherished daughter of James and Eleanor Faul (née Neff).
Kathleen’s journey began in the heart of the Midwest, where she cultivated a lifelong love for learning, family, and tradition. She attended Mercy High School in University City, St. Louis, graduating with the Class of 1966, and continued her studies at both St. Louis University and St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. Her thirst for knowledge and her deep appreciation for mathematics led her to serve as a dedicated math tutor at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley for many years, offering patient guidance and heartfelt encouragement to countless students.
While raising her beloved children, Kathleen worked tirelessly as a waitress at several establishments, including Holiday Inn, Sambo’s, and Dobb’s, which later became Gate Gourmet. Through decades of hard work, she rose to become a food service supervisor at Gate Gourmet, devoting over 30 years to her career before her well-earned retirement. Throughout her professional life, she was admired by colleagues for her intelligence, diligence, and warm camaraderie.
Kathleen’s home was always filled with laughter and a sense of welcome—a testament to her witty, dry sense of humor and the immense love she poured into her roles as both mother and grandmother. The holidays held a special place in her heart; she cherished decorating, hosting festive gatherings, and sharing the joy of family get-togethers. Particularly dear to her were visits to The Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and annual excursions to the Old St. Charles Christmas Traditions Festival on Main Street—a tradition that brought magic to all who joined her.
An avid fan of science fiction, Kathleen loved immersing herself in the adventures of Dr. Who and Star Trek. She relished discussing favorite episodes and characters, delighting in the expansive possibilities of other worlds, much like she delighted in the unfolding adventures of her own growing family.
Kathleen took the greatest pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their achievements, character, and happiness were the true legacy she treasured above all. Her deep love will be lovingly carried forward by her children: Bobby Hawley, Rose (Lisa) Moore, Rita (Eric) Erwin, Regina (Rob) Mulloy, and Sean Moore. She reveled in the joy of spending time with her grandchildren: Kristina Hawley, Nicole Reed, Michael Erwin, Daryl Erwin, Cheyenne Erwin, Becca (Tyler) Mense, Ashley Kelley, Steven (Jessie) Kelley, Nathaniel (Carrie) Mulloy, and Trenton Mulloy, as well as her 14 adored great-grandchildren.
Kathleen also leaves behind her brother, Patrick (Peggy) Faul, and her sister, Peggy Faul. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, James Faul and Eleanor Faul (née Neff), whose memory she honored with a lifetime of kindness and devotion to family.
All whose lives were brightened by Kathleen’s wit, strength, and unconditional love are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
