Kent R. Hunter, age 66, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on June 22, 1959 in Marion, Illinois to his parents, Clay and Gladys Hunter.
Kent was a 1977 graduate of Marion Senior High School where he was the Most Valuable Player on the golf team. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he studied commercial art. Kent married his high school and college sweetheart, Sherry Pike, on May 19, 1984 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion, Illinois. She survives him along with their son Damon and daughter-in-law Heather of Wentzville, Missouri. He also leaves behind his devoted Shetland sheepdogs, Clover and Sailor.
Most of Kent's working years were spent in the printing industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching all sports, but he was especially a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the former St. Louis Rams.
Kent will be remembered as a man who loved his family, a loyal friend, and a hardworking colleague. According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no services. His ashes will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion, Illinois.
