Laura Kay Maniaci, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 14, 2025, in St. Louis County at the age of 59. Born on October 26, 1965, in Granite City, Illinois, Kay brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She spent many fulfilling years working in the Title Business until her retirement.
Kay was a vibrant spirit known for her humor and loving nature. She never hesitated to remind those around her that they were loved and thought of. Her selflessness was evident in everything she did; she always put others before herself, making her an exceptional anchor for her family and friends. Adorned with her signature red lipstick, her bright personality shone through in every situation.
Family was at the core of Kay's life. She cherished spending time at family get-togethers, where laughter and love filled the air. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, the light of her life. She loved fishing at her favorite spot, Table Rock Lake. She shared countless beautiful days swimming and making memories with her grandchildren at Six Flags. With a flair for creativity, Laura delighted in bedazzling any item she could get her hands on. Her love for gardening and canning with her mother further illustrated her nurturing spirit.
Kay leaves behind her devoted husband, Thomas J. Maniaci; loving mother, Donna DiStefano; her daughter, Jamie Danielle (Michael "Mike" Brown) Maniaci; and her six cherished grandchildren, Gia Brown, Paul Brown, Tommy Maniaci, Carson Maniaci, Luca Maniaci, and Myles Maniaci. She is also survived by her brother, Robert "Keith" (Karen Weller) Lockhart; three sisters: Kimberlee "DeeDee" McClellan, Tammara "Tammy" (Frank) Hodges, and Kelly (Erik Kruep) Lockhart; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Maniaci; daughter-in-law, Heather Bishop; brothers-in-law, Faro Maniaci and Mike Maniaci; and a host of other family members and friends that loved her dearly.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, James Dale Lockhart; her two sons, Thomas "Tommy" John Maniaci and Cyle James Reid; and her father-in-law, Faro Maniaci Jr.
A visitation to honor Kay's remarkable life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, on May 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; we will break and have a memorial service from 5:30 until 6:00 pm, and then continue with visitation time. The following day, family and friends are invited to visit Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne Prairie from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, concluding with a Mass at 10:00 AM.
