Lois A. Dawson

Lois A. Dawson, age 87, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Saint Charles, Missouri. She was born in Wahoo, Nebraska on November 20, 1935 to Alvin and Alice Zaugg (nee Thomas).

Lois was married to her lifetime sweetheart, Ronald Dawson (Poppo), for 67 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children got older, then she went to work for the Department of the Army, Air Survivability Command in St. Louis. She loved to spend time with her family and entertain. She was an exceptional cook and many of her dishes will be missed. Lois was an avid bridge player and enjoyed passing time by working on various needlework projects. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed serving on the Alter Guild throughout her life, most recently at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Lois is survived by her husband, Ronald Dawson; her daughters, Deborah Miller, and Theresa (David) Hopson; her sons, Mark (Connie) Dawson, and Bryan (Angela) Dawson; her 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wesley Zaugg. She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Alice Zaugg; her son-in-law, Robert Miller; her brother, Charles Zaugg; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Zaugg.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am all on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8945 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, O Fallon, MO 63366. A luncheon will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Church following the funeral service.
