Marcia Kay Dooley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in O'Fallon, Missouri, on May 3, 2026. Born on August 25, 1947, in Pittsfield, Illinois, Marcia's life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication.
After raising her children with unwavering devotion, Marcia pursued her lifelong passion for nursing. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Missouri Baptist University and went on to serve as a registered nurse and charge nurse, becoming chemotherapy certified—a testament to her intelligence, compassion, and desire to care for others. Her career was marked not only by professional excellence but also by the warmth and generosity she brought to every patient she touched.
Marcia was known for her radiant smile and cheerful spirit. A loving mother, she cherished her family deeply and took immense joy in blessing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to all who knew her, reflecting her generous heart and strong faith in the Lord. She loved to go shopping, a fondness for jewelry, and a particular joy in spending time with her daughter Lisa on countless trips and weekly shopping trips with lunches. Many fond memories were made together, from shopping to soaking up the sun on the beaches of Florida.
The proudest accomplishments of her life were her marriage to her beloved husband Richard “Rich” Dooley, a union that lasted 60 cherished years, and the enduring love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and greatest legacy.
Marcia is lovingly survived by her husband, Rich; her children, Todd (Cassandra) Dooley and Lisa (Steven) Guiffrida; her grandchildren Jessica (Mike) McKeever, Joshua (Carly) Dooley, Matthew Dooley, Jacob (Ellie) Dooley, Magdalene (Kenyon) Tollison, Nicholas Guiffrida, Anthony (Michaela) Guiffrida, and Vincente (Julia) Guiffrida.; as well as her great-grandchildren Bridgette, Mason, Jack, Nora, Colt, Leon, Theo, Augustus, and Luciano, with three more eagerly awaited this year. She also leaves behind her brother John (Jeanie) Garoutte and her mother-in-law Elizabeth Rentfro.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents John Garoutte and Mary Barbour, her sister Kathleen "Kitty" Garoutte, her brother Randy Garoutte, and her father-in-law Charles Rentfro.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marcia’s life with visitation at O’Fallon Church of Christ, located at 8576 Veterans Memorial Parkway, O’Fallon, MO 63366, on May 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay Street, Saint Charles, MO 63301, beginning at 2:30 PM. A gathering to share memories and fellowship will conclude the day back at O’Fallon Church of Christ from 4:00 PM.
Marcia Kay Dooley’s life was one of grace, generosity, and enduring love. She filled the hearts of all who knew her with light and kindness, leaving a legacy that will forever be treasured. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the loving embrace of her family and friends.
