Listen to Obituary

Margaret Ann Cline Bell, 82. Treasured wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Passed away peacefully at her home in O'Fallon, Missouri on December 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 25, 1943, the first born child of Dr. Edward W. Cline and Dorothy (Stammerjohn) Cline. A 1961 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Rodger O. Bell, on February 8, 1964, when she had a weekend off at nursing school. They enjoyed almost 62 years of marriage.

She leaves behind her husband, Rodger, of O'Fallon, and her 2 daughters, Leslie Bell Causey (Charlie) of St. Charles, and Angie Thomas of O'Fallon. Margaret was the extremely proud Granny of her seven grandchildren: Drew Dofing (who preceeded her in death), Matt Borgmeyer (Lauren), Luke Dofing, Gray "Maggie" Tessier (Andrew), Paige Dofing, Taylor Thomas, and Sami Thomas, and one great-granddaughter, Drew Dofing. She was a loving sister to Susan (Cline) Burns and Jean Cline.

Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Peters for over 56 years. For over 40 of those years, she was apart of the church weekday preschool (formerly kindergarten) ministry, serving as Preschool Director for a large portion of that time. She also served as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, and Adult Choir member. An accomplished seamstress, Margaret created many of her clothes and her daughters' clothes years ago. In the recent years, she enjoyed embroidering beautiful towels often given as gifts and quilting. While she could, admittedly, barely open a can of soup when she and Rodger married, she became an amazing cook. Even when her daughters' made her recipes, the food was, "never as good as Granny made it." Margaret enjoyed many miles riding alongside Rodger in a hot rod. She loved it as muchas he does.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. As we remember Margaret, we celebrate the shared memories and moments that marked her life, and therefore, ours. May her legacy live on through those who loved her dearly and through the (literally) thousands of young lives she touched as a teacher and leader in her faith. Margaret will be greatly missed and remembered fondly.
