Marge L. Rice, born on April 25, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on March 20, 2026. Marge devoted over two decades of her career to serving the Hazelwood School District, where her dedication and commitment made a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike. She was proud of achieving her GED, a testament to her perseverance and determination.
Marge’s personality was marked by a stubborn and intense nature, balanced by a depth of love and loyalty that endeared her to many. Known as someone you could call at any hour and count on her presence, she embodied a rare blend of steadfastness and compassion. She admired and strove to emulate her father’s qualities, ultimately becoming a unique combination of his influence and her own spirited disposition. Marge was also recognized for offering thoughtful advice and support to those around her.
Her interests reflected a rich and vibrant life. Marge had a profound love for Rock ‘n’ Roll, with particular admiration for Styx. She cherished time spent with her granddaughter, Autumn Holdmeyer, cultivated a passion for gardening, and held a genuine affection for animals, including the wild ones. Additionally, Marge was a talented baker and an excellent cook who treasured sharing hearty, home-cooked meals.
Marge’s devotion to family was unwavering. She loved her parents deeply and continually aimed to embody their values. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Marion Rice; mother, Elaine Helen Rice; and sister-in-law, Cindy Rice.
She is survived by her daughter, Robyn (Michael) Holdmeyer of O’Fallon, Missouri; two sons, Donald Rice and Daniel Rice; her beloved grandchild, Autumn Holdmeyer; sister Cathy (Rick Hansaid) Rice; brother Thomas Rice; brother-in-law Richard Hansard; and her four nieces Lindsay (Darren), Celia (Aaron), Deanna (Josh), and Emily, along with numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on April 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The family invites all who knew Marge to come and pay their respects, reflecting together on her life and legacy. The family encourages friends and family to wear their brightest colors to honor Marge for her services.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marge's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Marge L. Rice’s memory will endure through the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she served so dutifully. Her intense spirit, boundless love, and genuine care will be remembered with great respect and affection.
