Margie LaVern Scott, who lived each day with warmth, spirit, and a love of celebration, died on September 13, 2026, at the age of 100.
Margie was known for her joyful nature and for living every day as if it were a party. She loved the color red, enjoyed reading, and treasured the time she spent at the clubhouse and down by the river. Among the places she enjoyed, she was a lifetime member of The Moose Lodge, The American Legion and the VFW. Above all, Margie loved being with her family, and her friends meant the world to her. One thing about Margie, is she lived life on her own terms; often forgetting to use her filter, and saying things exactly the way they were.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Kleeschulte. She also leaves five grandchildren: Timothy “Timmy” Kleeschulte and his wife, Tammy; Stacy Wisner and her husband, Todd; Richard “Rich” Kleeschulte; Scott Kleeschulte; Tammy Lewis and husband, Mike. Margie’s family also includes nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends who will remember her with affection and gratitude. Her love of family was a constant in her life, and the time she shared with those closest to her will remain a lasting gift.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Scotty” Scott; father, Everett Hunter; her mother, Mable L. Hunter; her sisters, Muriel Henkle, Shirley Bredensteiner, and Mary Ellen Hoelting; and her brother, Bud Hunter; son-in-law, Richard "Dick" Kleeschulte.
Margie will be remembered as a woman of energy, loyalty, and heart—someone who embraced life fully, cherished her family and friends, and brought a sense of fun wherever she went. Her memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
