Marie G. Fischer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 24, 1937, Marie was a pillar of strength and love for her family and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Marie cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, often taking them on shopping trips. At home, her devoted dog Mollie was never too far from her lap or at her feet. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She loved to spend time outdoors, especially at their place at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing, reading, and raking leaves. She frequently attended reenactments and rendezvous with her beloved niece and husband.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Donald Fischer. She leaves behind her cherished children, Brian (Christa) Fischer, Timothy (Karen) Fischer, Leslie (Stephen) Grayek, and Matthew Fischer. Each of her children held a special place in her heart, and she took immense joy in watching them grow and thrive.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who were a source of pride and joy for her: Lindsay (Jason) Parker, Erin Dennehy (Josh Good), Lauren (Chandler) Castello, Emma Fischer, Joseph Fischer, Erik (Anushri) Fischer, Kelsie (Trevor) Carpunky, Sarah Grayek (her husband: Zachary Ferguson), Jessica Grayek, and Jeremy Grayek. Marie was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Sylas, Lila, Beckham, McKenna, Elias, Maximus, and Weston, who brought light and laughter into her life.
She is remembered fondly by her sister, Carol (Rick) Miller, her sister-in-law, June Grams, and brothers-in-law, Greg Daust and Mike O'Reilly. Marie had a warm and caring spirit, which drew in numerous family members and friends who cherished her presence in their lives.
Marie was preceded in death by her father, Henry J. Grams, her mother, Marie A. Grams, and her brother-in-law, Robert Staats. She was also welcomed to eternal rest by three siblings, John Grams, Margaret Daust, and Jane O'Reilly, who now join her in peace.
