Marie F. Wade

September 15, 1959 — June 13, 2025

St. Louis, Missouri

Marie F. Wade, born on September 15, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, departed this world peacefully on June 13, 2025, in her cherished hometown. With a heart full of kindness and a spirit that radiated warmth, Marie spent her life dedicated to her family and her work, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

For many years, she served joyfully as a school cafeteria lady at Hazelwood Central High School, where her welcoming nature and selfless dedication to the students made her a beloved figure within the school community. Marie's kindness extended far beyond her career; it was woven into the very fabric of her being. She went out of her way for everyone, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly during the holidays, which held a special place in her heart. They were not just occasions to celebrate; they were festivities filled with laughter, love, and togetherness—memories that her family will hold dear forever. Marie was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jennifer Shelton and Nicole (Paul Rainey) Wade, and her son, Thomas (Annalynn) Wade. She was immensely proud of her children, who she lovingly raised to become remarkable individuals.

Marie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed crafting and shopping, but it was in her kitchen that she truly shined, pouring her love into cooking and baking for those she adored. Her love extended to her pets as well; she cherished her cat, Esther, who brought her immense joy.

In addition to her children, Marie was a devoted grandmother to Ashley Smelser, Wesley Shelton, and Blake Rainey, and great-grandmother to Jaxon Overy. Each grandchild was a treasure to her, and she embraced every moment spent with them, creating bonds that will be remembered fondly for years to come.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Lois) Garcia II, and her sister, Carol (the late Michael, Sr.) Zakrzewski, who will surely miss her presence. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Michael Garcia, Sr., mother, Billie Garcia, and her siblings, Diana (husband Howard survives) Sloan, Joseph Garcia, and Larry (wife Norma survives) Garcia.

Marie F. Wade touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for family, and the beautiful memories she created. In her honor, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM, both at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63005.

As we reflect on her rich life, we find solace in knowing that she brought joy to her family and friends, and her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
