Marie Lester Weiskircher, née Horn, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, having touched the lives of those around her with immense love and gentle kindness throughout her 83 years. Born on November 14, 1942, Marie carried a gentle spirit and a deep devotion to family that resonated strongly with everyone she met. Her love of life and sense of humor will be missed by all.
Marie’s life was rich with the bonds she cherished most. Her beloved husband, Thomas Weiskircher, remains to hold dear their years together as do her sons, Greg (Tereasa) Lester and Jeff (Lisa) Lester; her daughter, Laura Lester; her step-sons, Mark (Jennifer) Weiskircher and Paul (Evangeline) Weiskircher; and her step-daughter, Jill (Britton) Pyland. Marie’s legacy flourishes in her many grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as Neené: Brent (Shelley) Lester, Matt (Samantha) Lester, Nick (Emily) Lester, Tara (Matt) Howard, Ryan Lester, Jessica (Vinny) Thomas, Kelsey Lester, Emily Lester, Jordan Lester, Allison Dashefsky, Olivia Dashefsky, Elizabeth Dashefsky, Kyle Weiskircher, Alexandria (Demetrius) Stephenson, Philip Weiskircher, Elizabeth (Josh) Wineau, Jacob Pipkin, Sam Pyland, Thomas Pyland, and Tyler Pyland. Her joy was even greater in the smiles of her great-grandchildren: Cole Lester, Ashley Lester, Augie Lester, Wyatt Lester, Brady Lester, Addy Lester, Malakhai Stephenson, Mia Lester, Noah Lester, Andrew Howard, Raynah Thomas, McKinley Thomas, and Jonelle Thomas. She also leaves behind many other treasured family members and friends who will remember her warmth and kindness.
Marie’s life was marked both by enduring love and profound loss. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Chester Horn, her mother, Hazel Marie Carson Virgin Horn Beccue, her first husband, Larry Shelby Lester, her granddaughter, Kylie Weiskircher, her siblings, Jack (Nell) Virgin, Barbara (Joe) Quick and Gayle (Sue) Horn. Their memories, carried always in her heart, shaped the depth of her compassion and understanding.
After raising her three children, Marie worked in banking. She later purchased a printing company, Chesterfield Minuteman Press that she owned and for which she was the graphic designer for 28 years.
As a lover of nature and animals, Marie found peace amongst trees and open skies. She found happiness in simple joys—listening to music, sharing moments of dance, cheers from the sidelines of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sports, laughter around a table playing the family card game 65, or enjoying family game night. She had a quirky sense of humor and was quick to laugh along with her family. Nothing mattered more to her than the happiness and company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She embraced every chance to celebrate their accomplishments and milestones, always ready to dance, watch, or play alongside them.
The memory of Marie Weiskircher is a cherished gift—her laughter, encouragement, and unwavering support will echo through generations. Though she is no longer present in body, her spirit lives on in the stories retold, the traditions she fostered, and the love she so freely gave.
Her family and friends will forever celebrate her remarkable life and the love and joy she shared with all who knew her.
