Marlene MacDonald, born on November 17, 1944, gracefully departed this life on July 18, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Marlene touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
Throughout her life, she cultivated a love for crossword puzzles, finding joy and challenge in their intricate words and clues. Her passion for flowers and plants brightened her home, as she took great pleasure in nurturing them. A talented cook, Marlene delighted her loved ones with meals that were not just nourishment but expressions of her care and affection. Evenings often found her engrossed in classic westerns, a testament to her appreciation for timeless stories and characters. However, her greatest joy came from spending precious time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Craig MacDonald; her son, Vincent L. Dillon (Alexandria); her two granddaughters, Brittany Dillon-McCleary (Bruce McCleary Jr.), and Aeja Dillon; two great-grandchildren, Jaiden Dillon and Mariah Dillon. She is also remembered fondly by her two half-sisters, Sue Billings and Lynn Dansby half-brother, Lawrence Jenkins. A host of other family members and friends will carry her memory in their hearts.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo Jenkins and Louvenia Bellephant; her step-son, Spencer Bryan MacDonald; and her three sisters, Pearlena Dear, Barbara Jean Greer, and Irma Jean Wade; as well as her two brothers, Vance Bellephant and Joe Bellephant. Each of these loved ones left an indelible mark on her life, and she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
Marlene MacDonald’s legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories will continue to resonate among her family and friends, who take comfort in celebrating the life she lived.
