Marrisa Meshell Clark was born on March 17, 1996, in Boone County, Missouri to Tyrone and Donna Clark. She was raised by her Grandfather Douglas Clark, who loved and adored her. Marrisa was 1 of 8 siblings and attended St. Charles Public Schools.
Marrisa was baptized at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO, where she regularly attended as a child with her Grandfather. Around age 7, she became involved in the Big Sister, Big Brother program where she eventually met and formed a trustworthy & lifelong bond with her “Big Sister”, Becky Johnson, who she called “Momma B”. At age 12, she started attending Faith Church in St. Louis, MO, where she at times sang and danced with the youth group during praise and worship. Marrisa was a vibrant soul known for her infectious laughter, radiant spirit and beautiful smile. She was a beacon of joy who loved sports, hanging out at family gatherings, and was often described as her grandfathers’ “Wild Child”.
Marrisa’s energy and enthusiasm for life made her the life of gatherings and a cherished presence in the hearts of all of those around her. To know her was to love her. From an early age, it was clear that Marrisa had a gift for bringing people together. She strived to make everyone feel included and love. Marrisa had a radiating warmth and kindness that drew people to her and her contagious laugh could brighten the darkest of days. Her sense of humor made her a treasured friend and family member and her boundless energy and zest for life inspired many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Marrisa was a loving mother to 2 beautiful children: Daughter, Novah Dior Ethridge; and Son, Ne’Omah Ahmad Clark. Although their time was cut short, both of her children brought her immense pride and joy. She cherished the moments she spent with them, nurturing their spirits and encouraging them to embrace life just as she had. Marrisa’s legacy will certainly live on through them.
She leaves to cherish a large, close-knit family: her Grandfather Douglas (Rose) Clark; Mother Donna Clark; Sister Romie; Brothers Tey, Terron, Jeremy, Nikolas, Corey, Ryan, Jamie and Jackson; her special Big Sister, Becky Johnson; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends who will truly miss her. They all cherish their special memories of Marrisa, remembering her as a beautiful soul who was always ready for fun and adventure.
Marrisa was proceeded in death by her Great Grandparents William & Effie Clark; Father Tyrone Clark; Grandmother Shirley Clark; and Brothers Kris and Damarco. May their memories continue to be a source of comfort and connection within the family.
As we remember Marrisa, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. Though she has left us far too early, her bright light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love and her talent for bringing people together will be missed but never forgotten. May her joyful spirit rest in peace, knowing she helped make the world a brighter place.
