With a career that included work in the cosmetics industry with Estee Lauder and at Lever Brothers, and at Olan Mills photography studio and later at Southwest Medical Center, Mary exemplified a dedicated work ethic and a passion for service.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School and courtroom stenography school, and a lifetime of continuous learning, she reflected a spirited approach to both her professional and personal endeavors. She was known for her positive personality, often bringing joy to those around her with her lively conversations and a collection of memorable sayings, including "laughter is the best stress-reliever" and "smile and laugh a lot."
Mary enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. She found great pleasure in painting and working on jigsaw puzzles, which served as outlets for her creativity and problem-solving skills. Her love for travel defined much of her life's experiences, allowing her to explore far-off places and immerse herself in diverse cultures. Mary's journeys took her to international destinations including China, Russia, Brazil, England, France, and Italy, each trip serving to broaden her perspectives and create cherished memories. Her most favorite trip was traveling to New York City with her brother, Al, a story she recounted multiple times. Mary was a lifetime member of the St. Louis Art Museum, and enjoyed going there whenever she could.

Bushman and Raymond (Ray) Bushman.
She is survived by her son, Rick L. Butler. Mary Helen Butler leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, embodying a life fully lived and well loved.
