Mary Agnes Ciolek, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 4, 1937, in St. Louis, and lived a life centered on devotion to family, steady kindness, and the simple joys that become a lasting legacy.

Mary attended Jennings High School and graduated in 1954. Later in life, she returned to school at Florissant Valley Community College, where she attended classes alongside her son Raymond, who was taking courses during high school in preparation for SLU. She drove them to school each day, a reflection of the encouragement and commitment she gave so naturally to those she loved.

She was a proud homemaker and deeply loved raising her family. She was also a beloved aunt. In addition to the care she poured into her home, Mary also worked as a receptionist and marketing host. She especially enjoyed her work in doctors’ offices and valued the opportunity to meet the physicians there, always thinking highly of them.

Mary filled her life with creativity, friendship, and fellowship. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, where she shared laughter and companionship. She loved making dolls and became a semi-professional doll maker, bringing artistry and care to each creation. She also belonged to a card club that formed life-long friendships, and together they created wedding cakes for their children—cakes that remain a cherished memory for all who were fortunate enough to celebrate with them.

Among Mary’s proudest accomplishments was her marriage of 74 years to Raymond A. Ciolek, a remarkable bond built over a lifetime. She was also deeply proud of her children and grandchildren, and especially of her great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous happiness.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond A. Ciolek; her children, Elizabeth Tibbs and her husband Bob, Raymond S. Ciolek and his wife Marcia, and Edward Ciolek; her grandchildren, James Macanufo and his wife Elizabeth, Justin Macanufo and his wife Marina, Adelle Bellamy and her husband James, Casey Wisdom and her husband Roman, R.J. Ciolek, Danielle Ciolek, and A.J. Ciolek; and her great-grandchildren, Jonah Macanufo, Ada Macanufo, Stella Macanufo, Renzo Macanufo, Bobby May, Christopher May, James Bellamy, Monica Bellamy, Jaeden Young, and Roman Wisdom II. The love she gave to her family will continue to live on in each of them.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Macanufo; her parents, Catherine and Sidney Sears; and her brother, Thomas Sears.

Mary will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to her family, her creativity, and the warmth she extended to friends and loved ones throughout her life. Her memory will be treasured always by all who knew her.
