Mary Carol Pusczek, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, in Dellwood, Missouri, at the age of 82. Born on May 29, 1942, in Sikeston, Missouri, Mary led a vibrant life filled with adventure, laughter, and an unwavering love for her family.
Throughout her career, Mary dedicated herself to bartending and the food and beverage industry, leaving a mark as an entrepreneur when she owned her own bar, “Cricket II.” Her engaging personality, marked by a bubbly demeanor and a big heart, made her a cherished figure in the community. Those who knew Mary best appreciated her straightforwardness and the warmth she brought to every gathering.
Family was at the core of Mary’s life. She reveled in vacations to Florida and loved hosting delightful family functions, particularly barbeques where everyone could come together, sharing stories and making memories. Mary was immensely proud of her family, a sentiment that resonated in every interaction she had.
She leaves behind her loving children: Michael Kelly Taylor, Barbara Ann Thompson, and Dawn (Kent Kirby) McFerron. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Ryan McFerron, Scott Thompson, Chasity Thompson, Dylan Thompson, and Rashelle (Jacob Bolser) Laraby. Additionally, her cherished great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Nelson, Alexis Laraby, Destiny Thompson, Kayleigh McFerron, Kinsley McFerron, Klayton Laraby, Hunter Laraby, Ryder McFerron, and Dax Thompson, will carry forth the values and love she instilled in them.
Mary is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Ann (Frank) Duran and Wonda Sue (Ron) Mays. She was preceded in death by her long-time partner, Glen Schodroski, her parents, Rufus Chester White and Eula Mae White, her son, William David Taylor, her grandson, Michael Kelly Taylor, Jr., and her brother, Rodger Dale (the late Carolyn) White.
Mary Carol Pusczek will be remembered not only for her spirited personality and entrepreneurial spirit but also for her profound love for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Visitation will start at 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM. As we gather to honor Mary’s life, we invite all who knew her to join in celebrating her memory and the joy she brought to those around her.
