Mary Wegmann, born on October 16, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Mary graduated from Maplewood High School and embraced life with a sweet spirit that touched everyone around her. She had an innate ability to connect with others, embodying the essence of a people person. Her warmth and kindness knew no bounds, as she was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a smile, or offer words of encouragement. Mary’s love for animals was notable; she was an avid animal lover who delighted in the companionship of dogs, cats, and all creatures great and small.
In her leisure time, Mary found joy in exploring new crafts, always eager to try something creative. She loved shopping, whether hunting for the perfect gift or simply enjoying the thrill of finding something new. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she delighted in cooking and baking for family and friends, filling her home with comforting aromas and cherished memories. Her hobbies were a reflection of her generous spirit and endless curiosity for life.
Throughout her life, Mary was proud to be the devoted wife of her beloved husband, Jim Wegmann, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years. Together, they navigated through life’s ups and downs, building a family filled with love and laughter. Mary took great pride in being a mother to her four children: Judey (Joseph) Wolfsberger, James (Chrissy) Wegmann, Jill (Rickey) Williams, and Janet (Michael) Lieurance. She approached motherhood with grace and love, instilling in her children the values of compassion and determination that she held dear. Mary's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Jon (Marianne) Wolfsberger, James Wolfsberger, Ashley Daniel, Joey Tremmel, Joshua Lieurance, Emily Lieurance, and Charlie (The Dog). She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Jackson Wolfsberger, Jemma Wolfsberger, and Hunter Daniel, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Adolph H. Huesgen; her mother, Leona M. Huesgen; and five siblings: Laura Schulte, Adolph "Bud" Huesgen, Bill Huesgen, Bob Huesgen and Jim Huesgen. Though they have departed from this world, the memories they created together will remain an indelible part of her story.
As we remember Mary, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness, love, and generosity. She has touched countless lives and leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire family and friends alike. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her, a radiant reminder of a life beautifully lived.
