Mary Zimmerman

Mary Marguerite Zimmerman, age 86, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Jonesburg, Missouri. She was born in Warren, Arkansas on October 11, 1937 to Randolph and Pauline Allen (nee Byars). 

Mary enjoyed time spent with her husband, Don, reading, watching the MLB Cardinals bring home a win, loving on any puppies nearby, visiting with family and checking out the new restaurants around town. Her favorite dining out event would be anywhere they had all-you-can-eat crab legs.

Prior to retirement she served as part of the nursing staff at Mother of Good Counsel Nursing Home before retirement. She spent the first part of her retired years cruising with her husband, Don or visiting Branson with Valerie to catch a good show. They made several trips together to her relatives in Smackover, Arkansas, near where she and her sister, Pat, grew up.

She embodied what everyone thinks of when you think of a loving Grandma. She relished the visits from her grandkids and went all out to make every Christmas Eve with family extra special. She bought gifts all year long in preparation and it wasn’t uncommon for her to randomly gift something she had tucked away so well, she forgot until after the holidays had passed.

She never met a puppy she didn’t like. She had a container of dog treats nearby and at the ready for whenever she got the chance to spoil a pup. 

She knew how to have a good time and the value of a good snuggly nap curled up in a blanket. 

Mary is survived by her Daughter, Valerie (Shawn) Huber; Son, Donald "Lee" (Sue) Zimmerman, Jr.; Step-Daughter, Cathy Fueller; Six grandchildren, Terry (Dawn) Klamert, Brian Fueller, Joshua Sandt, Caitlin Zimmerman, Lydia Zimmerman, Jacob Kunes; Three great-grandchildren, Dominic Klamert, Roxy Klamert, Cloe Fueller; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Zimmerman, Father, Randolph Allen; Mother, Pauline Allen; 

 Sr.; Grandchild, Timothy Klamert; Sister, Patricia Ray.

Funeral Ceremony will be 12:00 pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at St. Peters Chapel.
