Maurice Robert Pierce

Maurice Robert Pierce, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on October 11, 2026, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri, at the age of 66.

Maurice was born on December 12, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Maurice Charles Pierce and Theresa Rosalie Pierce (née Minnella), who preceded him in death. He grew up as an only child and remained deeply devoted to his parents throughout their lives.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in physics from the University of Missouri Rolla and University of Missouri of St. Louis. Maurice enjoyed working with computers and had a lifelong love of science fiction, movies, and trivia — interests he shared generously with the people he cared about. Though quiet by nature, he was steadfastly loyal to his family and friends, never missing a holiday, birthday, or celebration.

Maurice was a man of faith. In his final days, he expressed deep gratitude for the blessings of his life. His faith brought him comfort, and his gratitude reflected the gentle, sincere way he lived his life.

Maurice is lovingly remembered by his family, including his cousin Nancy Mehan and her husband Richard Mehan, and their children Richard Mehan, and Maureen Lenza (Matthew Lenza and Tyler Lenza); his cousin Diane Beck and her husband Joseph Beck, and their children Kathleen Holmes (Frank Holmes, Francesca Holmes, and Frank Holmes), Emily Cannova (Michael Cannova), and Joseph Beck (Lexie Beck); his cousin Robert Belaska and his wife Peggy Belaska; and his cousin Timothy Willman.

He will be deeply missed for his quiet presence, sharp mind, and the thoughtful ways he showed he cared.

A Funeral Mass honoring Maurice will be held Friday, October 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ascension Catholic Church in Chesterfield, Missouri.
